Kansas Trip!

Well I might be the worst sister ever for not visiting my sister in Kansas for over a year after she moved there... But I think last weekend made up for it! Dave and I hit the road to Kansas later than we had anticipated, and ended up getting there around 2 am! That's the beauty in getting a new job I guess - not being able to ask off that is. We had fun though, I slept a little and then got mad at myself for not bringing anything to read. We finally got there and the hotel is awesome! My mom picked a great Marriott in the power and light district in Kansas City. Highly reccomend!

We woke up early Saturday morning and headed to Lawrence for the OU vs. KU game. Lawrence is absolutely beautiful! I couldn't get enough of all the tall trees that were changing colors for fall and the campus area is much bigger than Norman's! I loved their campus corner too - it was awesome! They have an urban outfitters on their campus corner! Jealous!

Here's some pics from the tailgate:

After the family weekend tailgate we walked to the campus corner area to watch the game, stopped by the Theta house to see where Juls lives and they're right next to the Beta house! So of course Dave and I had to get a pic outside the KU beta house! We watched the game at Buffalo Wild Wings it was so much fun! And luckily OU won! After the game we headed back to Kansas City and walked from the hotel to dinner at the Gordon Biersch brewery which was yummy!

Sunday we woke up and headed to the Plaza for some shopping! Anthropologie, J.Crew, American Apparel, Kansas City has it all!
It was so great to finally see where Juls is living and to meet some of her fun friends! I can't wait to go back!  Thanks for showing us a good time in Kansas Juls! Love ya!

OU vs Texas 2009

Well, OU wasn't able to pull out a win this time... we were very close though! It was not an exciting game to watch really... Sam got hurt again... there weren't many touchdowns... all in all - it sucked.

BUT we still managed to have a great time! Friday night we went out to dinner at Blue Fish and then headed to Zephyr's to run into everyone we know. Here's some pics from Friday night:

Then Saturday, we watched the game at Primo's with a big group of people! Here's some pics from that:

All in all it was a good weekend full of fun memories with the best friends!

OU vs. Texas weekend!

Yay!!! Sam Bradford is back and just in time for the big football event of the year! We will be making the trip down to Dallas this Friday afternoon for the Red River Rivalry! I'm SO excited! This year is the first year we decided to be grown ups and all have a bed for the weekend - so we've got a 2 bedroom suite at the Embassy Suites with our usual OU/tx group. We're planning on getting sushi Friday night and then heading to Zephyr's afterwards. Last year we ran into just about everyone we'd ever met at OU there.
Then for the game Saturday, we've got a reservation at Primo's in Dallas to watch it while enjoying $2 mimosas! Yummm! Here's some pics from last year's OU/ tx to get you excited with me :)

Tuesday Randoms

r a n d o m t h o u g h t s

How great were the Beatles? I would kill to have seen them play the Shea Stadium concert or the one on the rooftop! Every song is brilliant from the lighthearted "Since I Saw Her Standing There" to the meaningful "Hey Jude".

Why is it so hard for me to decide what to wear to work each day? My guess is the weather, it changes through out the day so layers are necessary and my cardigan/sweater wardrobe is drab. I find myself just standing in front of the closet staring blankly.

How come pumpkin spice lattes aren't offered year round? Maybe I'll try and make friends with someone who works at Starbucks...

Last night I thought The Hills and The City would be on, wrong they're on Tuesdays. Yay for Tuesday!
