I've made a few purchases to help my winter wardrobe. I've had a lot of trouble deciding what to wear out in the evenings so I'm really glad to have found this cute Zara tee on sale for $19!

I also got this cute Patterson J. Kincaid blouse for evening wear:

I got the orange e-reader case for our new Kindle Fire, now I can take it everywhere (to read hunger games) and not worry about the screen, plus you know I love a monogram:

I got some of these storage boxes on super sale from Exposures - I'm going to finally get our wedding stuff organized and stored away!

And the best new purchase by far - Tickets to San Diego in May to visit Dave's sister! I'm now taking recommendations for things to do and see (and most importantly eat)!

My lovely hubbs gifted me a Birch Box subscription and I couldn't have been more excited to get the first box!

I tried out the Dry shampoo and the pink lip gloss one morning: the Left is Before both and the Right is after. You can't tell a huge difference but I loooooove the dry shampoo! It smells good and works really well!

I also have to share with you my new planning supplies for 2012! Dave hooked me up with the cutest planner, adorable chevron pencil bag and 20 skinny sharpies in "80s glam" colors! Hello Organization!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas! I went to Tulsa for a few days while Dave stayed behind in OKC to study for boards. I left him with a delicious quiche and the dogs so he didn't feel so alone, while I got some quality sister bonding time. He joined us in Tulsa on Christmas Eve, just in time for Mass and we had a delicious dinner (PW's 3 cheese stuffed shells) and then spend Christmas morning opening gifts with my family. We hit the turnpike around noon and spent the rest of the day and evening with Dave's family opening gifts and catching up. We were totally spoiled by both of our families and are now enjoying a new Keurig, new sunglasses and a new Kindle Fire thanks to them!

Gameday Re-caps

I seriously slacked on the game day recaps here... and I really have no excuse except that they were so wildly fun that I was completely out of commission every Sunday this fall.
For the OU vs Missouri game - it was Dave and I's turn to do the main dish so we opted for a Mexican theme and I made taco salad!

We acted like the wind screen was a step and repeat and it turned out awkward per usual..

Our tailgating neighbors let us borrow their Shark head for some pics, beer pong was played, Renea was surprised with Birthday cupcakes and Rex made friends with the opposing team's fans. Just a usual tailgate. :)

We enjoyed a win and a beautiful sunset over the stadium!

And the after-game...

We took it easy before the Ball State Game and relaxed at our old house with it's new tennant, Brent before the game. It was a nice change of pace. And made me very nostalgic about our old abode. at least I didn't cry this time... awkward...

Since we didn't pre-game too hard we decided to After-game with friends!

And that was Ball State.

We celebrated lil Meg's birthday at the Texas Tech Tailgate and went ALL out! It was the most successful tailgate of the year...followed by the worst storm (lost our good tent) and followed by an upsetting loss.

Before the storm and the game, much fun was had by all!

All the cool kids were there.

Dave questioned why Florence and the Machine was on the GameDay playlist, which prompted Ashley and I into a full on dance party. Wait is it a party if there's just 2 of you dancing? Either way I think we proved that Florence and the Machine belongs on the playlist.

Lots of beer pong happened..

Matt and I beat like everyone, I say that b/c I honestly can't remember who all we beat. It was pretty incredible. So incredible that it warranted this photo collage.

Then right before game time sky turned this crazy color...

And the guys tried to figure out what to do with everything...

Then it poured and the game was delayed an hour and a half then we lost and it sucked and that's the end of that gameday.

I know I'm super late posting this but it's been crazy around our house! Dave is studying for boards non-stop which leaves most of the cleaning, decorating, and Christmas shopping to me! I'm cool with it though... it'll pay off eventually right?

Anyways, here's our Thanksgiving re-cap!
We packed up our xbox and our kinect so have some Miggins family Kinect fun! We played for at least 12 hours while we were there! It was a hit!

Wednesday night we went out to dinner at Elote with AnneMarie and her bf Adam, and Patti and Nick (pre-engagement)

Elote was having their weekly Luchador wrestling matches so there were some characters walking around.. it was super fun! We had some amazing fried avocado tacos and their famous puffy tacos!

The boys were instant bffs with Adam. He's a keeper AnneMarie...

After dinner we went to the Dust Bowl for some friendly bowling. You have to keep your own score and who knows how to do that? Patti did! Dave and Adam enjoyed the outdoor "boingy" chairs.

Kellie came to join us! Yay!!

Cheeeeeee-eeeee-eeeese!

It was a blast! I wish we all lived in the same city and could do this every weekend! For reals.
The next day was Thanksgiving and the bowling alley pitchers were not agreeing with us... but we persevered and enjoyed a delicious meal and hours of football.

We enjoyed the vintage look of my grandparents formal living room. And Matt ate too much he fell over.

After Thanksgiving lunch we napped and then headed to Utica Square for Lights On!

Sooner Wed!!!

Last weekend my bff Patti got engaged in the cutest way!While they were posing for their "Christmas card picture" Nick had 2 friends hold up a banner he had made and proposed in front of the stadium! SO cute! She was shocked as you can tell!

She said yes! Obviously...

So funny b/c we were just giving Nick a hard time 2 nights before about them not being engaged, and so I guess he told Dave when I wasn't around that he was planning on proposing on Saturday at the tailgate. Dave didn't tell me until we got home and I was SO excited!

Patrick was so happy he cried a ~~holyshit it's windy and cold~~ happy tear!

If it weren't for the nasty weather we would have partied/tailgated/celebrated at the game however it was nasty so we celebrated at Campus Corner.

So the day before I went to get her some Bridal magazines b/c who doesn't want to start looking right away? Then I ~~got bored on the drive from Tulsa to OKC~~, thought it'd be even more fun if I made comments in them so it would be like we were reading them together!
I think she got a kick out of some of them...

I'm so happy for my bff Patti who I've been friends with since Kindergarten! That's right folks! Kindygarden! :) I couldn't think of a more perfect person for Patti to be with! Nick's a lucky guy! Congrats friends!!! Can't wait for the big day!!!

Seeeester Visit!

The weekend before Thanksgiving I hopped on a short hour long plane ride to visit the sis in Lawrence. It was relaxed and fun as any sister visit should be, it's always nice to visit your sister because you don't have to think twice about borrowing their clothes, shoes, accessories, hairbrush, deodorant, wine, and the list goes on.

We spent at least an hour in the brand spankin new H&M that just opened in the Plaza in Kansas City, then hit up Brio for some delicious wine, pizza and pasta!

After dinner we headed to Juls house in Lawrence, it should probably be called a Brothel b/c 8 girls live there. She lives on the 3rd floor in what she calls her "nook" and what I'd call a converted attic. Regardless it was cozy and cute, and it's no wonder her butt's in shape b/c those stairs are no joke. I forgot my phone in there twice and had to run up and then back down. phew!

I have no pictures from this night b/c I felt like crap (stupid cold!)
One of Julia's roommates asked if I was her older or younger sister! hah! That was pretty cool!
Juls got me drugged up on Allegra D and I was feeling MUCH better the next day! Turns out the over the counter cold medicine is worth the extra $10
The next day we slept in and drove around Lawrence before stuffing our faces at lunch on their campus corner. (Queso and a grilled chicken sandwich w/ avocado and bacon does a body good)
We quickly decided we'd seen all we needed to see in Lawrence and headed back to Kansas City
More shopping at The Plaza occurred.
Juls good friend Carolyn,was nice enough to let us crash at her super cute apartment, so we got ready there and all went out to dinner
Tapas and Sangria! Juls was taken back to Barcelona, the restaurant was called La Bodega and I highly recommend it if you're ever in Kansas City!

I must have asked Carolyn where she got 15 things in her apartment, it was SO cute! Made me miss the days of single living where you can have pink pillows and nobody objects! haha!
We cabbed it to a couple of different bars, I couldn't tell you the name of them if my life depended on it, but they were fun!
As we got to the first bar we got to see the last play of the OU game where Baylor beat us and this led to more drinking than usual...

Things I learned in Kansas City:

I can't drink like a 21 year old anymore.
If you text the ESPN alerts back they don't respond
I shouldn't ever book a flight for before noon after going out with 21 year olds.
Getting selected for a random pat down when you feel like death is the worst
Having to walk through the airport barefoot to get to the pat down room makes you feel like a criminal
There's no good food at the Kansas City airport to help aid you if you happen to be hangover, there's a quizno's and a snack stand, no help for someone who might want McDonald's breakfast
I need to visit my sister more.

Bullet Point Kinda Day

I've had a cold for a week... bullet points are as good as it gets right now.

I got the Tory Burch Holiday gift guide in the mail and had to have this iphone case for myself.. I've been wanting a more fun case and this one was a must have! No, I couldn't wait until Christmas, I didn't want it to sell out!

I made these super cute onesies for a baby shower we went to last weekend! Thanks to Toni for giving me the confidence to know I could do it! It was SO easy! You might remember I saw something similar at Mistletoe Market being sold for $30! Mine cost about $6 to make! Score!

I attended a baby shower at work - thrown by men. Check out the banner they came up with for the decor!

My old pal Marissa was in town a couple weekends ago and she had to have some famous Eischen's Fried Chicken! Dave ate an entire chicken. Don't get me started.

Dave won a Kinect at DentFest and it's provided hours of fun! So far our favorite game is the Adventures game it came with and Dance Central 2! Any other good ones we should ask Santa for?

I made the dogs homemade dog food from this recipe that was super easy btw - I'm waiting on my Mom of the Year trophy to come in the mail...

I saw this amazing kids gift in Real Simple magazine - but then I was at CVS the other day (getting cold medicine again yay!) and saw that they sell them in the store for only $20! If I was a kid I would have gone nuts for this present! It's called the Discovery Kids Color Me Castle, and I found them online at JCPenney.

I'm super excited for Thanksgiving! I made Pioneer Woman's artichoke dip for Dave's family Thanksgiving last night and I'll be making Pioneer Woman's Mac and Cheese as my contribution to my family's Thanksgiving this year! Yummm!

Aye Aye Aye! I haven't blogged in a while! So you get one of my lovely photo re-cap posts! You're welcome in advance!
We went to a super fun wedding for our friends Michael and Stacy! Love those Chi-O - Beta weddings! :)

All 3 of us girls below were Chi-O's that married Beta's! All from the same pledge class! Love it!

On another weekend, we celebrated our good friend Tim's 30th Birthday!!!

It called for a trip to Ingrid's where 3 of the guys took on the boot challenge.

The challenge is - you have to drink the boot in under 5 minutes for it to be free.

After the boot challenge we went to BossaNova for some rooftop drinks and one of the guys didn't quite make it... you can see him asleep in the bottom left picture. At least he finished the boot though!

We also attended Emily's wedding in October! It was gorgeous and a total blast! I wouldn't have expected anything less!

I should also mention that I helped decorate her reception for the big day! It's a little side hobby of mine I'm trying to get going more on! She wanted more of an Anthropologie feel as opposed to floral. I think it turned out beautiful! Of course these are terrible quality pictures but you get the idea...

Dave: Modern Warfare 3 comes out today and I just tracked my package - it's arriving at 3 but I don't get out of class til 5...

We had some friends over before we headed to the Dental School Party, everyone looked SO good!

OU vs Texas Re-Cap

We had an absolute blast in Dallas for OU vs Texas this year! It took us about 3 1/2 hours to get to our hotel and we got ready and went downstairs to wait for the players and Bob Stoops to arrive! That's right, we stay at the same hotel as the team! We cheered when they all came in and were sad they didn't take the elevators right by us.

Taryn organized it so that we had a stretch Escalade limo to drive us around all weekend! It was fantastic!

Me and Chance both were magenta b/c we're cool duh. and yes that's a wine in a can in my hand - we had to wait for a long time for dinner! They guys finished an 18 pack in line.. yikes! We ate and then went back to the limo to hit the bar! This year we mixed it up from our usual Zephyr's and branched out to the Katy Ice House. I highly recommend this bar - it was huge and fun!

We had every intention of calling it an early night, but the hotel bar called our name on our way home and we ended up closing it down... we stumbled up to our room and crashed.

The next morning the game was at 11:30...let me just say that this should be a crime. I believe I got maaaaaybe 5 1/2 hours of sleep, got up and got ready for gameday. Dave and I went to meet some friends for the 1st half at PrimeBar in uptown Dallas.

At halftime we headed to the fair to watch the Sooners stomp the longhorns right outside the stadium! We had SO much fun! We found our friends, a spot in the shade (conveniently next to a beer stand) and cheered for the 2nd half!

OU won 55-17 and I thought this was pretty funny to see walking around after the game.

We ran into what seemed like everyone we know after the game!

This guy has been in Europe for 4 weeks and flew straight to Dallas for the game! That's dedication and good planning.

We went to meet up with our limo crew at the beer garden, I almost got left at the fair and when we got back to the hotel we took this group pic that Dave missed out on. (It was a long day)

After we devoured the red velvet cake balls I made, cleaned ourselves up for the night and headed to dinner at Iron Cactus which was an definite Fail. They made us wait for 2 hours, made THE worst margarita I've ever had and kicked one of our friends out. But before all that, Chance and I decided we should get our own reality show where we walk around offering to help people with their problems. The idea came from the 2 people we offered to help on the street... it went something like this:

Chance: Are you ok?

Random guy: ehh not really...

Me: Oh no, what's wrong?

Random guy: oh you know, girlfriend problems

Chance and I together: Oh I'm sorry! Can we buy you a shot?

Random guy: umm no thanks (with a look of leave me the hell alone)

Chance: Ok well keep your head up

Then we moved along to the next one...

We decided our show would be called "Comin' At Ya!" and this would be our poster:

Dave and Michael decided they should have their own reality show also... theirs is called F&#*^n Reality.

Not sure what the idea is behind their reality show but I know mine and Chance's will be way more entertaining.

We waited forever to eat, then we ate, then we headed back and passed out, it was a loooong day. Sunday morning Dave and I drove back and it took us 4 1/2 hours... Here are the only good parts of that drive:

In my quest for the perfect Friday night outfit for OU/tx I've made a few purchases. Hopefully something will work! I feel I must let you know that I got all of these items (besides the F21 top and dress at the bottom) on super sale with either promo codes or pure dumb luck. I'm a sale rack shopper for life and not afraid to admit it.

Love this blouse I found at Forever 21! Of course I'll be wearing it with a tank top underneath. The sleeves little button to keep them rolled up at 3/4 length - love that.

I found this super soft Theory tee in tan at the Off 5th Saks outlet for about 1/5th of it's original price! Score!

And some beautiful faux suede BCBG shorts to hopefully wear this weekend if the tailor gets done with them in time!

Oh and while I was perusing BCBG online I came across this gorgeous chevron necklace that of course had to have.

And I got this super comfy Urban Outfitters slouchy tee - I have a thing for slouchy tees and I must say this one is pretty money. I'd like one in every color.

Also, in a totally different theme - how lucky am I that my bff Stephanie is getting married and she picked out the cutest, prettiest, most flattering bridesmaid dress ever!

The Best Weekend of Fall

We're approaching my Favorite Fall Weekend! OU vs Texas weekend of course!

Friday afternoon we will be making the trip down I-35 to Dallas to meet up with Patti and friends for the game! For those of you who don't know, the OU vs Texas game is held smack in the middle of the Texas State Fair! In honor of that, I have to share what I will and will not be eating.

The Sooners played Tulsa in the season opener over Labor Day weekend

It was 102 degrees out, I wore my new red dress and my hair was up within 5 minutes. Just setting the scene for you all.

Oh and my family came! My Dad hooked us up with a Solar Powered generator to keep our fan going all day. If you're in the Oklahoma, Kansas or Texas area and want to go green he's your guy! Check out his Facebook page here.

We were super excited to use our new tailgate gear! These chairs are the best - the side table is where it's at. I got Dave one for Christmas and decided I needed my own... isn't that how it always goes? We also got this sweet new portable grill that is also an ipod speaker! It gets pretty loud, we definitely stepped it up this year with the party atmosphere!

Lots of beer pong was played, on the new beer pong table - that I got Dave for his birthday - go ahead and award me the wife of the year trophy.

Roddick v. Fish in OKC

Last night we saw Andy Roddick play Mardy Fish in an exhibition match in OKC.

The best part of the night was when Roddick did impressions of other tennis player's serves. He starts with Sampras, then Sharapova, then Nadal and he finishes with Serena. It was hilarious!

If you ever have a chance to see an exhibition match, Go! It was very entertaining! Now we have a goal to attend all 4 Grand Slam tournament before we die. London, Paris, Melbourne and New York. Not bad for travel destinations!

Friday Night Lights Love

Friday Night Lights - we started watching it this summer when a good friend said I reminded her of the wife on the show, (which i now realize is a HUGE compliment! Thanks Ashley!) so I watched episode 1 and was hooked. I got Dave to start watching it with me and we flew through the seasons this summer - then we finished it on Sunday.

It deserves a post because of the time we have spent watching it but also because of how much I loved the series. Coach Taylor and Tami were such a solid couple and it was so refreshing to watch a married couple that didn't cheat on each other and were real. I'm very happy with how the series ended, it tied up all of the characters story lines and I'm not gonna lie, had me in tears. I'm sad that it's over.

Oh and if you haven't watched FNL and still need convincing - Tim Riggins should do the trick:

What will fill the void now?
Anyone have any good recommendations? I'm currently watching a bunch of reality tv mostly: Real Housewives of New Jersey, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Rachel Zoe Project, Most Eligible Dallas, Border Wars (I know, random but I got hooked one day and it's pretty interesting) and a few non-reality programs: It's Always Sunny, Up All Night, How I Met Your Mother and Modern Family as soon as it starts. Wow. That's a lot. Maybe I don't need any other tv shows... yikes!

Dinner Club Fun!

We've started a little dinner club with our friends, so every Wednesday we all get together and eat at someone's house. It's a lot of fun and gives me a reason to drink wine in the middle of the week. Done and done.
The first week I made the stuffed peppers - they were a huge hit. The next week Ashley and Kyle hosted and made their famous My Pie pizza! It was deeelish! We had to take a group pic because we all brought our dogs over! Look at this crazy group!

The guys hosted us at their bachelor pad one week and then it was back to our house - mostly because I wanted to show off our new dining room table!

We used all our wine glasses to drink wine but I did happen to have 9 cute little FiestaWare teacups that worked out perfectly!

The lime sherbet was a little hard so I had to enlist some muscle for that part of the recipe.

I took care of the good part - the tequila that is.

Oh I lined the rims in salt - I forgot to mention that step.
Dave taste tested before we delivered them to our guests. I swear he liked it - he's just exhausted from school this semester. This was the only night he didn't spend 5 hours in the lab at school after being in class from 8-5. Poor guy.

Kyle was definitely excited for his nightcap/dessert!

Meghan demonstrated how to properly eat her dessert from a teacup, with her giant spoon b/c we ran out of teaspoons. How I managed to register for half a set of silverware I'll never know.

It was a hit and I can't wait for the next dinner club! If anyone has any fun recipe suggestions shoot them my way! I totally want to be the best dinner club hostess! (not that it's a competition or anything...)

Denver Girls Trip!

Hello blog,
It's been a while. I know you've missed me. I'm back to share a fun girls trip I went on a couple of weeks ago! My lovely friend, AnneMarie hosted us, let us crash her place and planned an amazing weekend!

Goodies waiting for us when we arrived! Cookies and presents - such a nice welcome!

The first night we went out to eat at an old mortuary, yes you read that right. There used to be dead bodies there. Apparently it's the hot place to go in Denver, as everyone we told was impressed we were able to get in! The food and drinks were great and we didn't see any dead bodies or spirits while we were there :)

After dinner, we checked out the rooftop for the views.. where I failed to get a non-blurry picture. It was pretty, trust me.

After dinner, we did a little bar-hopping until we found a good scene. If you're wondering - our scene is anywhere where there's not a jersey shore atmosphere and where guys might be wearing sweatbands for fun. We met up with our friend Rodine, who bought us all too many shots and then roses, not sure why the flower guy is in our pic but I'm sure we asked him to be in it.

The next morning was rough, but we managed to make it to brunch at Mona's

After a couple mimosa's and bloody mary's we were due for a nap. Then we walked to the Rockie's game. Did I mention AnneMarie's house is in the best location ever!? Well it is.

It was the perfect day for an afternoon game!

After the game we walked to The Tavern to watch some college football and feast on some bar food!

I don't know how that salad got mixed in with the rest of the bar food... which one does not belong?

It was all downhill from here... we went out for a little bit Saturday night and Marissa and I had a long taxi ride to find some tacos. The next morning we had to head straight to the airport. It was an awesome weekend with some great friends! Where to next girls?

I was pumped when I read about a College Football blog link up going around! Here's why I love the Oklahoma Sooners (And why you should too!)

We're true Sooners - proof below, staking out our tailgate spot. The Friday before every home game tailgaters are allowed to claim their spots at noon. We get out there at 10:30 to ensure we get the spot we want.

I've been wanting a new dining room table for a while, specifically a round dining room table. I think they make for better conversation and you can cram more people around them. Occasionally I'll search Craigslist for "Pottery Barn" and I was so excited to find a Pottery Barn Round Dining Room table a couple weeks ago! I purchased it without asking Dave... oops! He didn't care. It was a steal for $300! (We would have paid more than twice that much!)

Check out the huge difference it makes in our dining room. Our old table was way too small for the space:

I just learned that Zara is going to start online shopping in the US on September 7! My sister introduced me to Zara in Barcelona and we spent a good 2 hours in there. I fell in love. I made it a point to visit the Zara in San Fran when we were there and then last weekend in Austin I dragged everyone to the shopping center so I could go get my fix! Needless to say, it's my fave.

When I read on Whitney's blog they'd be shipping in mere weeks I got school girl giddy! So excited to grab a few of these pieces for fall!
Their blouse's are the best, I had to narrow this selection down.

With OU Gameday 10 days away, I needed a new Red Dress. It's perfect! I'm so glad I have my first Game Day Outfit prepared!

I saw these on Pinterest and seriously couldn't stop thinking about them. I had to have them.

Obsessed with the tassles! (They're removable for those days when you're not feeling as fabulous.)

I've been wanting to try a new fun neutral nail color, but didn't want to pay $8 for a bottle of Essie or OPI so I got this $3 Revlon polish and Love it!!

Now I need to find a dress for a wedding in a few weeks and something new and cute to wear on my upcoming girls trip to Denver!

Austin Re-Cap

We had SO much fun in Austin the other weekend! I cannot wait to go back, I seriously love that city. Dave and I will be spending the next 3 years convincing our families to move there. So we'll have free babysitters nearby of course... why else? haha jk! (sort of)

We drove down Friday and arrived at around 3ish, after checking in and changing suites (the floor in our room was soaking wet, so strange) we walked down 6th street and showed Eric around, it was his first time, and his birthday. Which is probably why 1900 vegas bombs were consumed later on that night.

The 3 of us walked down to J. Black's and ate the most amazing white queso ever! And had 2 rounds of birthday shots. What were we thinking? After dinner the rest of our group had made it to town so we walked back to the hotel to meet them.

Notice I'm already doing the lifted eyebrows to hold up my drunk eyes... this is not going to end well.
I somehow managed to convince everyone to walk a half a mile to a new bar, Lustre Pearl so that we could all sweat our a**es off and hula hoop!

Eric creeping in the back... it's his birthday, we'll let him get away with it I guess.

But, should we let him get away with this? I don't know..

After leaving Lustre Pearl we all decided we needed to dance, so we started walking toward 6th St. I was being a baby (it was super hot out and the walk was more than 5 blocks) so I asked a rick-shaw driver how much he'd charge me? When he said 1 cent I said Hell yeah! Heather and I hopped on and Dave came along to ensure the guy wasn't giving us a free ride to a back alley dumpster somewhere. :) I watch too much crime TV.

I asked the guy how his night was going, b/c I'm super friendly when staring at people's asses. I kid you not, his response was, "I'm great! I just smoked a lotta hash!" Ohhhhk, whatever floats your boat dude! After several blocks of silence, I had to break the ice again by asking him if he'd ever farted on anyone. I truly make the most lovely conversation after several drinks. For those of you still reading, his response was, "Yes of course, I just try and peddle real fast when that happens." I think that's a good policy.

He dropped us off and we looked for the most air conditioned bar we could find. After the boys ordered their drinks and didn't get us any, Heather and I complained to the bartender and he took care of us with a free shot and a free beer each! Hah take that boys! Or maybe that was their plan all along? To get out of paying for our drinks? Hmmm not sure if I really care either way at this point.

From there we bar-hopped to the Chuggin Monkey where the guys played that dumb game where they slam each others beers and make each other chug. Real mature.

Then a dance party ensued... and more shots.

And then we ended up here:

I knew Heather and I would be good friends the second she cut to the front of the line and ordered us a hot pepperoni pizza to go with 4 sides of ranch.

Luckily, we were walking distance to our hotel, so from here we walked home to engage in a feast.

The next day, we rolled out of bed, made ourselves look presentable and headed out for some Chuy's mexican food. Because we clearly hadn't consumed enough the night before.

After we ate, we headed to the Domain to do some shopping, I had a Zara craving and had to get my fix! I brought this guy home with me: yummy!

After shopping, we headed back to the hotel to veg out before another night on the town. Somehow we started watching Life As We Know It. And got all the guys SO into it! Hilarious! We had to get ready before it was over, it was a mini-battle.

We walked to Bar Chi Sushi for dinner, ate way too much and were able to convince a cab driver to take 5 of us to Kung Fu (they have some weird law in Austin that they're only allowed to take 4 passengers even if it's a van).

We got to see Sunny at Kung Fu! And she convinced Dave to take a shot of pickle juice followed by a shot of straight vodka. Yikes!

We were all tired after the night before and couldn't handle the crowd in Kung Fu, so we left and opted to have drinks at a restaurant down the street. After a few margaritas and vegas bombs (hair of the dog much) we were ready to hit the town again! I didn't take any more pictures until the walk home, but trust me we had a good time.

Dave carried me home, he's such a good hubsband.

It was a great trip and I can't wait to go back!

Weekend Getaway to Austin!

This weekend we're taking a little 3 day vacation to Austin, TX with some dental school friends, while they still have 1 more week off before they officially start their 2nd year! The original plan was to float the Guadalupe but since the drought they said it's more like a walk than a float... we've nixed that plan and hope these ideas will be just as fun!

Here's what I really hope we get to do:

Stuffed Peppers

I was inspired by my sister in law Kristin to make stuffed peppers for some friends the other night and they were a huge hit!

I searched and searched for recipes and couldn't find one I loved so i decided to make my own!
Ingredients:
8-10 Red Bell Peppers
1 lb regular sausage
1 lb hot sausage
2 cups (uncooked) brown rice
1 large yellow onion chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 can Rotel -lime and cilantro flavor
1 handful chopped cilantro
2 cups shredded cheese

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 F
Cook sausage in a large skillet, mix in the onions while it cooks, add garlic salt. Drain sausage and set aside in large bowl.
Cook brown rice according to package.
While rice is cooking add 1 can Rotel and 1 cup shredded cheese to sausage and onion mixture.
Chop the tops off of the bell peppers and scoop out the insides, place them into a greased baking dish.

When the rice is done, mix it in the large bowl with everything else.

Fill each bell pepper with the mixture and cover with shredded cheese.
Cook at 350 F for 12 minutes

Serve with a side salad and enjoy! This was SOOO good! And you could add whatever you like really, Quinoa and black beans would be really yummy!

It's way too hot outside to play tennis, so hot I can't accomplish anything else in the evening if we play tennis.
It's also way too hot to get in my normal lunchtime workouts. Last week I gave it a shot, worked out at lunch, cooled off a little in the locker room, put my jeans back on, went back to work and felt as though my jeans were painted on and needed to be burned off. Lesson Learned: Skinny Jeans + Lunchtime workout + 105 degree heat = Really uncomfortable afternoon.

Enter: Body by Bethenny Yoga DVD

Ahhhhhhhh! It's a great workout. (Read: I was reeeally sore after the first time!) And I can do it in the comfort of my own air conditioned living room. And when I'm finished, I'm not a disgusting sweaty mess that has to peel her clothes off and get directly into a cold shower. Win. Win. Win.

Even Cooper and Nigel enjoyed some yoga with me this weekend!

Highlights and Lowlights

Highlights:
Getting the new Blake Shelton cd and absolutely loving it!!! Seriously, go buy it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Getting a surprise yoga mat as a late anniversary present from Dave! No more beach towel yoga for me!

I found my dream nursery for one day in the future... (No, I'm not pregnant, and no, we're not trying.)
Just saying, if I start looking for these cute accessories now, maybe I'll have it all by the time I need it! haha!
I love the mixture of adult-like furniture with the cute artwork that is baby themed without being overtly "BABY".

Love the vintage Disney water color print from Cinderella, which was my all time favorite movie as a kid. My Mom said I would watch it everyday and beg her to start it over after it would finish. I guess I've always gotten obsessed with things like I do now! (See: the time I watched The Blind side 3 days in a row and 15 times in 1 month)

Lowlights:
Watching the Jaycee Dugard interview along with a few episodes of SVU - which led me to google whether or not you can microchip your children so that if they ever got kidnapped you could GPS where they were... I'm thinking it's not such a bad idea, but it's probably not ethical... What if I promise to turn it off when the kid turns 18?

The weather finally got below 100 degrees for a day, so we went to play tennis and I dropped, spilled and broke our water jug not 2 minutes after we got there.

I tried to send a living social deal to a friend and ended up accidentally purchasing one for myself... a 2 night stay in Eureka Springs! Yikes! Luckily I was able to cancel it... but let me tell you, living social's customer service is awful! I called, they were in training, I called the next day, got a recording "I'm sorry we're experiencing unusually high volumes please call back tomorrow" Um what?! NO! Give me my money back!
Lesson Learned: Be careful what you click.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend in OKC! With temperatures over 103 all weekend, should be interesting. See ya at the pool!

In other news: Blake Shelton's new cd came out and it's SO good! I've gotten Dave into country, he said he's listened to this song at least 10 times today already! Love it!

Anniversary Sunset Sailing!

Cute Way To Display Vacation Photos

Before Dave's birthday party I wanted to update some of our frames and I realized we had no pictures up from our recent vacations. Since we've been lucky to travel quite a few places in the past couple years, I quickly ran out of frames to put them in, so I came up with a new idea!

I had seen this frame at Pier1 a while back and it was perfect for my idea!

So I picked it up and then I edited a few of the best vacation photos in Picnik to make them look like Polaroids. Then I added text to the bottom of the Polaroid saying when and where the photo was taken.

I loooove the way it turned out!

I hung this in our kitchen above the trashcan, so pretty much everyone saw it and I got tons of compliments and how'd you do that?'s ! The possibilities are really endless with this little project, how cute would ultrasound pics look?! or monthly baby pics! So much fun and easy to swap them out whenever you want! A Couple of Weekend Recaps!

2 weekend's ago we went to a couple of cookouts! We've become great friends with Bridget and Tim, Dave and Tim are in Dental School together and it's always a good time when we get together! (with Krystal too!)
Check out the awesome garden they've got back there - I asked what they were growing and Bridget must have listed 10 different vegetables!

They just got a puppy, so we had to bring over the dogs to meet!

They cooked up some delicious Ka-bobs and I contributed a salad and dessert!

I got the idea for dessert from Pinterist (of course) but I wasn't interested in making my own shortbread cookies or cream cheese icing... so I went the easy route and bought shortbread cookies and used CoolWhip they were a huge hit!

Then we hit up the pool Saturday and enjoyed some good people watching (the apartment pool we crash is full of people who seem to think it's a Cancun pool) Quite entertaining. We cleaned ourselves up and headed to another Dental school friend's cookout!

We all enjoyed some yummy pulled pork sandwiches and an array of sides, then finished the night off with a lot of beer pong!

This past weekend we went to Tulsa Friday night...

Me: Aw you look like such a Dad right now!
Dave: I know I just need a fanny pack and a belt clip for my phone and I'm set.

We went to Tulsa this weekend and took Cooper to visit some of his old friends!

He showed off for Ellie... and played like he was Mona's size at Ryan and Lindy's.

We were so glad Lindy and Ryan took a break from watching Law Review videos to catch up with us!

Then my sister and her friends convinced us to go out with them, we ended up having a blast!

Although I wish we went to bed prior to 4:30 am....

I'm pretty sure Dave thought I was crazy when I made him load 4 leftover tree trunk's into the car before we left Tulsa... I have vision... you'll have to wait and see :)

We came back to OKC Saturday and went out to the best dinner at Deep Fork Grill for Dave's birthday!

Sunday we finished up the Wine bottle torches project!

Everyone say, "Good job Dave!" It was blazing hot out when he hung them up... I couldn't take the heat. Literally.

We've got a lot planned for this upcoming weekend! I can't wait to have everyone over to our house for some sliders, beers and backyard games!

Sprucing Up!

In preparation for Dave's Big Birthday Bash next weekend, we've been sprucing up the backyard/deck.
I of course started with flowers, I'd fallen in love with these wine barrel planters I saw all over Napa and San Fran then I remembered seeing them at TJ Maxx and was SO happy they were still there weeks later when I finally pulled the trigger!

I also got the cute little candle lantern at TJ for a whopping $6!

Anyways, we also painted the garage, the same color it was before... but now it doesn't look as ghetto.
I also added a few flowers and a Pink Hibiscus to the front porch planter! I LOVE Hibiscus flowers! I was so happy when this baby was only $7 at Lowes! Sold!
