A Very Happy Anniversary!

I can't believe it's been a whole year since we got married! It seems like yesterday, we were reciting our vows to each other and dancing the night away with our best friends and family! Here are a few of my favorite photos to remember our wedding.

It's been a wonderful year, we furnished our rental house, packed it all up when we bought our first house, moved to Oklahoma City, went on a few trips, and have had lots of laughs! I can't wait for what the next year will entail! I love you Dave! Happy Anniversary! :)

What I Want: Gallery Wall Edition

I've seen so many inspiring gallery walls and I want one bad! I've got the feva! And it all started with winning an amazing blog giveaway for a gallery wrapped canvas over at Centsational Girl. Huge thanks to Color Incorporated for hosting the giveaway and being so easy to work with!

We haven't hung any art above our bed yet and the blank wall was starting to bug me.

See the big empty wall? Ignore the clutter...
When I won I thought hell yeah! I'll get an awesome canvas print out of one of our favorite photos from Italy! I ordered it and it arrived in no time!

Ahh how we love you Cinque Terre!
P.S. That bridge you see leads to the statue where Dave proposed! :)

Then I realized that the print out was only 12 x 16 so it looked silly on that big wall. Aha! Gallery wall time!
I pulled out a bunch of the prints we picked up from our trip to Italy (2 years ago and still haven't framed) and decided it's time to take charge admire the prints and think about how great they'll look above the bed.

2 small prints from our day in Paris

Fun vintage travel poster from Paris

Also from Paris

With our one year anniversary this Sunday, I'm thinking I need the hubbs to purchase a few Vintage Travel Posters from Italy to round out the group. Bonus: traditional first year anniversary gifts are paper!
High Heeled Foot In the Door blogged about a great site offering cheap prints!
Here are the ones I have my eye on:

And I also want a pretty map of Italy to frame! (Haven't found one yet)

I plan to get frames for them this weekend if I can find some deals! I also like the idea of hanging trinkets up in between photos... Here's some inspirational pictures I found in blog land!

First Time for Everything

I'm throwing my first shower for some of our good friends this Saturday and I couldn't be more excited!
I had kind of forgotten that it was so soon after we got back from vacation, so this week is kind of hectic but I'm loving it! On Sunday, I planted a ton of flowers for the deck and picked up some tiki torches to ward the bugs away.  I was waiting to pick up pizza for dinner and stopped into the Dollar store in the meantime and found the most adorable paper lanterns! The deck is going to look fantastic when it's all pulled together.

Here are a few photos to get you as excited as me :)

We have a yard! With green grass and everything!!

Potted flowers (I'm quite proud of them)

I also brought back sand from Belize to make these cute centerpieces:

I can't wait to show you all the details from Saturday! My husband, Dave, quit his job before we went on vacation so that he could have a couple weeks off before school starts. And my car conveniently broke down right before we left so I've been driving his car to work, leaving him stranded at home. Luckily, he's been awesome at helping me prepare for the shower. Yesterday he baked his first cake! (Which I plan on making into cake balls but don't think he's quite ready for all those steps) Hopefully we'll have it all pretty and ready by Saturday!
