Birthday Dreams

I spent too many hours looking at the Pottery Barn catalog and have decided that all my current furniture sucks and I need to replace LOTS of stuff in our house...
It might be due to the fact that we've hit the 1 year mark on our "4-year" house. I'm itching to make it the best it can be so we can enjoy it for the next 3 years. That makes sense to you all to right? I'm not crazy for thinking this way right??

Here are a few of the pieces I'm hoping the Birthday fairy brings to me :)

Pottery Barn - Woven Pouf

Pottery Barn - Tanner Nesting Tables

Pottery Barn - Cynthia Storage Bed
Seriously been trying to save up for this bed for over a year and something else keeps coming up... :( Anyone have a PB discount they want to share?

Pottery Barn - Stratton Bedside Table
And just in case the Birthday Fairy can't carry all this stuff, I'll gladly take one of these as a donation toward making my dreams come true.

Teaser iPhone Photos

We took over 1000 photos on vacation and it's quite a daunting task to go through them all, I plan on getting them up sometime this week but until then...

I took a pic of my airport/8 hr flight outfit because I'm a total nerd and tried my best to copy an outfit that Bethenny wore on Bethenny Ever After. I'm SO glad I decided to wear my Hunter boots b/c it ended up raining a few days and they were very necessary! I just took put them in the overhead bin on the plane and wore socks and my Tory Burch's (when I had to hit up the nasty airplane bathroom).
We watched The Kings Speech on our overnight flight and ordered a glass of wine to help us fall asleep, only to find out that wine is free on Delta flights! Score! I had 2 of the biggest pour glasses of wine and passed out before the movie finished! Don't worry I woke up and finished it, Loved it! Colin Firth totally deserved the Oscar.
We enjoyed a pitcher of Sangria followed by a liter of wine on our first night... Don't judge, we ordered paella and it took forrrrever to cook and we were thirsty!
Our hotel was right outside of the beautiful Barcelona Cathedral! It was the perfect location!

We had a Blast walking the streets of Dublin on St. Paddy's Day!
More pictures to come, I promise!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Dubin!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
We're headed to The Official St. Patrick's Day Parade through Dublin today!

In honor of the holiday, I thought I'd share a little linky love:

Living Luxe For Less picks out some great whiskey decanters that are sure to make any Irishman happy!

A Party Style shows off some St. Patrick's Day snacks!

Strawberry Swing and Other Things shows us some adorable DIY cupcake flags!
And in case you weren't following or reading last year, please check out my posts about how I'm more Irish than you, and just to reiterate that, I am in Dublin right now... where are you? That's what I thought. I win. #winning!

How are you celebrating the holiday?

And We're Off!

Excited to visit my sister and discover Barcelona!

"uhh why??"
"Because there is SO much good shopping here you're gonna die!"
"Hallelujah!!!"

"Experience is one thing you can't get for nothing." - Oscar Wilde

Does a statue get any cooler?

We're so excited to visit Oscar Wilde's statue in Dublin, it's in Merrion Park, which just happens to be on the walk from our bed and breakfast to the St. Patrick's Day festivities.

We fully plan on hunkering down with ole Oscar and reminiscing on some of his famous hilarious remarks. (Something I can fully relate to)

Here are a few of my favorites:

"Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination."
I couldn't agree more.

"If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you."
Wise words.

"An acquaintance that begins with a compliment is sure to develop into a real friendship."
Truth.

"Life is too important to be taken seriously."
 L-i-v-i-n

"I love talking about nothing. It is the only thing I know anything about."
 The definition of twitter.

"I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good characters, and my enemies for their intellects. A man cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies."
Probably good advice.

"I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying."
I too feel this way quite often.

And my all time favorite, his last dying words:
"Either that wallpaper goes or I do."

I'll have a Guinness for you in Dublin! Hope you're all having a great day!

Drinking instead of packing! Oops.

Recent Ramblings

Me: What should we get Ryan and Lindy as a housewarming gift?
Dave: Uhhh?
Me: Do you really have no ideas or do you just not care?
Dave: No, I'm pumped for this, let's get them a gun!
Me: Umm I was thinking like a bottle of wine?
Dave: No, let's get them energy efficient light bulbs, maybe a new sweater for Ryan? A framed poster of Ron Swanson's Pyramid of Greatness? Sunglasses?
Me: Wow
Dave: Yeah, let's just go with the wine.

Moving on...

Me: Ok what should we get Seth and Heather for their new baby?
Dave: Uhhh?
Me: Not this again... I'll just look for their registry.
Dave: No, wait, let's get them one of those baby backpacks!
Me: Haha what??
Dave: You know, the thing you wear on your chest that holds your baby like a backpack?
Me: You mean the Baby Bjorn.
Dave: Sure.
Me: Hmm I dunno their address, I'll just find something on the registry...
Dave: Who cares more now?

Touche.

A couple of things..

I reeealy want this haircolor, but my hair lady is on maternity leave and I don't trust anyone else. Grr.
I couldn't agree more with this diagram of the "Likability of Angry Birds", That Boomerang bird SUCKS! (After having the game for a week I got a pop up telling me, "Congrats! You've played for 15 hours!"....I haven't played since. In my defense, Dave loves the game more than I do)

I worked super late tonight, and probably will every night this week in order to be prepared for our trip on Friday. Luckily I have this to help me unwind.
I twitpic'd Bethenny and am convinced she'll tweet me back, visit my blog, then realize we should be besties, then she'll fire Max and hire me to be her sidekick. See you all next season on Bethenny Ever After! Don't worry I will still remember you all when I'm famous.

Charlie Sheen Pyramid of Greatness!

Adapted from one of my favorite shows, Parks and Rec, I give you The Charlie Sheen Pyramid of Greatness!

                 {Click the images to make them larger}
The original is an instant classic, The Ron Swanson Pyramid of Greatness:
Charlie Sheen's interviews are cracking me up! I mean the guy is obviously a nut job, but some of the stuff out of his mouth is just pure gold. "I blinked and I cured my brain" - Charlie Sheen
"Especially when you see how I party, it was epic. The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards all of them, just look like droopy eyed armless children." - Charlie Sheen

What do you guys think?

Welcome March!

I'm SO happy February is over! bye bye winter blues! Hello Springtime Sun!
Yesterday we had some awesome weather, we thought about going to play tennis but decided happy hour was a better idea... (we've already played 3 times this week! we deserved a night off!)

So we decided to hit up the BossaNova rooftop and enjoyed a beautiful view of the city with some cheap drinks!
We had so much fun at BossaNova, we decided it's going to become our place, you know like the coffee house from friends,
and the bar from How I Met Your Mother,
or the diner from Seinfeld,
You get the idea I hope...

The name BossaNova reminds me of this hilarious YouTube clip from a couple years ago:
(this video has some explicit language fyi)

Did you all know you can buy magazine subscriptions from Amazon?

Here's what will be showing up in my mailbox once a month, for the next year! :)

It was cheaper to order through amazon than to use my renewal rate! Score!

And have you ever heard of National Geographic being so cheap!? Hubbs was pretty excited when I texted him this morning during a study sesh.
National Geographic Subscription for $15 a year! Click here.
