Bumpdate: 32 Weeks!!

How Far Along:
32 weeks! 8 months down - 8 weeks to go! I think I can I think I can...

Baby Size:
A large jicama (whatever that is?) - Baby is approximately 16.7 inches long and weighs about 3.75 lbs (according to BabyCenter)

Have you started to show yet:
Yes! I feel huge, I don't know how I'm going to keep getting bigger for 8 more weeks.. Lord help me.

Gender:
Baby Boy!

Maternity Clothes:
oh yeah. It has been so cold that my options have gotten really limited, I'm doing laundry more and more often these days b/c I'm only comfortable in about 5 outfits. And I refuse to buy anything new. Not happening. So ready for non-maternity wear!

Stretch Marks:
Nope but I'm nervous b/c I've been growing a lot! Still using the Mama Mio products and loving them! Pick up some for yourself here.

Sleep:
Thanks to my parents for getting me the Snoogle I've been sleeping a lot better! I would prefer to be Snoogled up in bed than on the couch most evenings. I was skeptical at first but ladies let me tell you, pregnancy pillows are legit. Get yourself one. I kept the packaging so I can roll it up and store it easily again to save for my next pregnancy.

Best Moment Lately:
Having another Ultrasound to check things out and getting to see our little guy! He looks like a real baby now and measured in the 68th percentile! Perfectly above average but not enormous, phew!

What I miss:
Being able to roll over in bed easily, being able to stand up easily, being able to put on socks and shoes easily... you get the gist. Things are getting tricky around here.

Movement:
Oh yeah he's still hammering around in there, Dave finally saw my belly move from the outside which he found pretty entertaining!

Food Cravings:
Sweets! I have chocolate milk after dinner most nights and crave dessert after lunch too... so strange b/c I was NEVER a sweets person before.

Symptoms:
Mainly just discomfort when sitting for any period of time in the same position.. the drive to and from Tulsa over Christmas wasn't very fun. And hello heartburn! I don't go anywhere without a stash of Tums now.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing in particular but still feeling terrible when I eat a large or regular sized meal.. snack size meals are my jam.

Labor Signs:
I've had a couple of Braxton Hicks contractions but never more than 1 a day yet.

Belly Button- In or Out?:
There's really no denying it - I've got an outie now. Sometimes I think it's cute but most of the time I'm hoping it gets smashed down with the 4 layers I'm covering it with.

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
On

Baby Purchases?:
I got a backup crib sheet since Serena & Lily was having their huge after Christmas sale. And I bought the cutest Christmas bow tie that was on super sale a cute boutique in Tulsa over Christmas!

We haven't bought anything else because the little guy got so spoiled over Christmas!

Looking forward to:
My 2 showers coming up!!!

Bumpdate: 28 Weeks - Hello Third Trimester!

How Far Along:
28 weeks!

Baby Size:
A large eggplant - Baby is approximately 14.8 inches long and weighs about 2.25 lbs (according to BabyCenter)

Have you started to show yet:
Yes! I'm starting to feel quite large.

Gender:
Baby Boy!

Maternity Clothes:
My selection from my closet is very limited these days.. I did go to the Gap Outlet and picked up a sweater and pair of thick leggings that I'm rotating in now. For the most part I'm still wearing the same things over and over.. I figure if I mix it up with a diff scarf or necklace it's totally fine.

Stretch Marks:
Nope but I'm nervous b/c I've been growing a lot! Still using the Mama Mio products and loving them! Pick up some for yourself here.

Sleep:
Sleeping meh.. it's hard to go back to sleep once I've woken up for a bathroom break so I feel like a zombie most days.

Best Moment Lately:
Hitting the 3rd Trimester! I'm so excited to be starting the downhill of this journey b/c at the end is a little precious baby! Dave has been so sweet, he's practically my butler in the evenings b/c I'm back to being super tired. He probably refills my water glass 4 times a night.. so sweet. He is busy studying for boards but it always so thoughtful when he takes his breaks :)
We also had a good time seeing a bunch of friends at a holiday party this past weekend! It was icy and snowy but we still managed to have a great time!

My evening buddies while Dave studies for boards:

What I miss:
I saw an Instagram of a delicious looking swirl from Mi Cocina and I can't stop thinking about it.. I want a big margarita with a mound of guacamole on the side! yummmm!

Movement:
Tons! I'm starting to feel like a punching bag every evening he gets his workouts in after dinner.

Food Cravings:
Popcorn! We had THE best popcorn at the movie theatre seeing Catching Fire and I've seriously contemplated stopping in the movies just to buy popcorn and leave on my way home from work several times... If the parking lot wasn't always so full I probably would stop.

Symptoms:
Aching Hips after lying down for a while.. my doc said it's just my ligaments loosening up.. so that's awesome. My 2 pairs of pants better have a little more stretch left in them! Also starting to get tired like in the first trimester again..

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing in particular but when I eat too much I feel like I could get sick... happens pretty often so I've started eating small snacks throughout the day instead of big meals.

Labor Signs:
Nada

Belly Button- In or Out?:
Flat to slightly out.. I think it depends on where the little guy is, sometimes it looks like I have an outie but mostly it's just flat.

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
On

Baby Purchases?:
We did a little Black Friday shopping since Gap had everything 50% off! And I scored the cutest Kickee Pants footie on a buy one get one sale at a local boutique! I actually got two but only photographed one.. b/c my brain is fried.

And my aunt gifted us with the below adorable cozy outfit! I can't wait to bundle up the little guy in this cuteness!
Oh oh annnd we got the art back from the framer!! Here's the dresser, lamp, toy basket and artwork! We'll put the changing pad on the dresser and hang the art but for now you get the gist!

Looking forward to:
My work shower on Thursday! It's my first shower and I'm so excited to see what the little guy will get and to celebrate with everyone who's been witnessing my growing belly everyday!

Bumpdate: 25 weeks!

How Far Along:
25 weeks! (or just over 6 months for those non-preggos who don't get why everything is counted in weeks like I did prior to becoming preggo)

Baby Size:
An average Rutabaga (whatever the hell that is?) - Baby is approximately 13.5 inches long and weighs about 1.5 lbs (according to BabyCenter)

Have you started to show yet:
Yes! I'm starting to feel quite large.

Gender:
Baby Boy!

Maternity Clothes:
Still rocking the same 8 or so outfits... I plan on rotating those for the next 4 months.. I did invest in this maternity tank from Target that I love!

Stretch Marks:
Nope! Still using the Mama Mio products and loving them! Pick up some for yourself here.

Sleep:
Sleeping ok.. I bought not this exact one but similar to it, nightlight/knockoff scentsy warmer for my bathroom that has made the middle of the night bathroom trips much more pleasant.

Best Moment of the Week:
Visiting my new Dr and loving every second of it! I made the decision to switch doctor's because I wasn't happy at the one I'd been seeing and I'm SOOO glad I did.

What I miss:
Nothing really! Pretty content at the time being!

Movement:
Getting lots of kicks, punches and rolling around in there! Pretty entertaining to see my belly move!

Food Cravings:
Chocolate Milk... but to be fair I was a pretty avid chocolate milk fan before getting pregnant.

Symptoms:
I've started to get some heartburn after I eat which is not very fun. It goes away quickly with a Tums though so that's not too bad.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope

Labor Signs:
No - talk to me in a few months.

Belly Button- In or Out?:
In

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
On

Baby Purchases?:
We've bought a few more cute outfits and my mom got him THE cutest St Patty's Day outfit!! Thanks Mom! Oh and Baby got his first pair of boots!
And I took this to the framer today! I can't waaaaiiittt to see the finished product!

Looking forward to:
The holidays and getting to see some family we haven't seen since the big announcement!

Bumpdate: 22 weeks!

How Far Along:
22 weeks! (snapped this real quick before we took the dogs for a walk, hence the sweats)

Baby Size:
Spaghetti Squash - Baby is approximately 11 inches long and weighs almost 1 lb! (according to BabyCenter)

Have you started to show yet:
Yes! I haven't gotten any strangers commenting yet but there's definitely no hiding it anymore.

Gender:
Still a BOY! We got a double check at our ultrasound 2 weeks ago so now there's no doubt in my mind!

Maternity Clothes:
Maternity Jeans All the time now and maternity leggings omg loveee! Trying to find tops that are long enough to make it down over the bump and hide the maternity panel is hard!

Stretch Marks:
No and hoping it stays that way! Still using the Mama Mio products and loving them! Pick up some for yourself here.

Sleep:
Sleeping really good lately! I do find myself on my back sometimes but I turn over right away. Why is sleeping on your back so comfortable!?

Best Moment of the Week:
Getting the nursery started! I purchased some of the bedding b/c it was on sale and I couldn't wait (a theme I'm noticing lately). Special thanks to Dave's parents for helping us clear out the guest room furniture, letting us borrow their truck and helping Dave move all the new furniture into the now nursery! I'll try and share a sneak peak soon!

What I miss:
Shopping for my regular size... there are SO many cute new things for fall I want! I've been satisfying my shopping needs with shoes and baby goods so far...
Oh and my long hair. I went against everything I'd read and chopped it off while pregnant, biggest regret. Don't do it people.

Movement:
oh yeah! He's punching and kicking in there now for sure! Dave had been trying to feel it every night and finally Tuesday night he felt a good one and said "Ohhh that's what I've been feeling for!" Haha I think he'd just been feeling his pulse before that one.

Food Cravings:
Jalapenos, Jalapeno chips, anything spicy really.

Symptoms:
Feeling really good most of the time! I've got a strict bedtime though, if I don't go to bed when I start to get tired I might as well just sleep where I am at the moment. Brushing teeth takes so much energy at the end of the day!

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope

Labor Signs:
No

Belly Button- In or Out?:
In

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
On

Baby Purchases?:
Tons! Stroller, Bedding, Dresser, Rug, Daybed, Basket, Blanket.

Looking forward to:
Packages arriving in the mail :) And attending a good ole friends Baby Shower next weekend and getting to compare bumps and funny stories!

18 Week Bumpdate!

How Far Along:
18 weeks!

Baby Size:
Bell Pepper - Baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long and weighs almost 7 ounces (according to BabyCenter)

Have you started to show yet:
Yes! I haven't gotten any strangers commenting yet but Dave and my Dad both said this weekend "I think I see something there"

Gender:
BOY! I was so surprised! I made the Ultrasound Tech check 4 times! After that and watching the video from the ultrasound about 25 times, I'm finally convinced and super excited!

Maternity Clothes:
Maternity Jeans All the time now! And I had to go to Old Navy for some new clothes last week. It's hard finding tops that are long enough to cover the panel on maternity jeans! I just bought a size up in regular clothes b/c the 3 maternity tops they had in store were not my style.

Stretch Marks:
No and hoping it stays that way!  Dave's sister sent me the sweetest care package full of Mama Mio products that I've started using. So far I've been using the Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Cream, Boob Tube and Lucky Legs. Pick up some for yourself here. This stuff smells amazing! Plus you feel like you're treating yourself right when using it. :)

Sleep:
Sleeping good so far, have to get up to pee once a night and find it hard to fall back asleep after getting up some nights.. Sleeping in is non-existent anymore. I'm up at 8 no matter what. Which is fine, lately I've been using the quiet time to research strollers or other baby items.

Best Moment of the Week:
Shopping for our little guy! So fun to shop now that we know we'll have a little boy! Here's what I've picked up for him so far:
Top Left: Striped Pocket Onesie, Hat, Striped Onesie Top Right: Love Bug Onesie, Hat - Baby Gap not online
Bottom Left: Crown Print Footie Sleeper  Bottom Right: Carter's at Target

Pretty sure I should just have my paycheck sent to Baby Gap from now on...
Top Left: Onesies, Striped Sweat pants Top Right: All Carter's from the Outlet
Bottom Left: Baby Polo Hat, Striped Sleeper from Baby Gap Outlet Bottom Right: Tennis Onesie

What I miss:
Not much honestly... after sitting on the turnpike for 2.5 hours on Friday night (normally only takes us an hour 20) I could have really gone for a glass of wine but besides that I'm pretty content.

Movement:
A little in the early morning or late night when I'm laying still I can feel movement. It doesn't feel like kicks but more like he's rolling around. He was definitely sticking himself into my bladder one morning and I told him out loud to please move off of it and he did! That was so cool!

Food Cravings:
Still chips and salsa and also popcorn!

Symptoms:
feeling good! I only had 1 day where I felt really lightheaded and I think it was due to not getting enough protein. Note to self: cinnamon rolls do not qualify for a balanced meal at dinner time. Hangs head in shame.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope

Labor Signs:
No

Belly Button- In or Out?:
In

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
On

Baby Purchases?:
Besides the multitude of outfits I showed above, we ordered the crib and the crib mattress! Thank you to Dave's parents! Annnd after spending about an hour testing different strollers at Buy Buy Baby we finally picked out a stroller! Thanks to Mom and Dad! (waiting on a sale to purchase, Buy Buy Baby wouldn't let me use my coupon on it and I refuse to pay retail)

Looking forward to:
Starting to get the nursery together!

Pregnancy Faves So Far

The first trimester wasn't terrible for me - besides the extreme exhaustion I felt pretty good. But once the 2nd trimester hit I realized how much better I felt! Here is a list of my faves for all you other preggos or soon-to-be or someday will be!

Most of the time I felt like this:

Faves to help survive the first few months:

1. Diet GingerAle - I had one of these every morning, made me feel a lot better

2. Lucie's List - sign up for her emails and check out her Registry Info was really helpful to read (since you can't really buy anything until you find out the gender, it's a good time to start researching in general what you'll need)

3. The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy - this book is awesome, the writer is hilarious! My favorite chapter so far - "Why you shouldn't work out while you're pregnant and reasons why - You'll get fat anyways" love it.WAY more entertaining than What to Expect (which I also bought and fell asleep to one night and never picked up again)

4. LUNA protein bars - you need insane amounts of protein when you're pregnant (70g a day) and if chicken grosses you out you may have a hard time getting to the amount you need. These help and they're not terrible. They have 12g a bar and also help you feel full for a while. (You may feel like you're starving all day long like I do)

5. San Pellegrino Blood Orange - this stuff is delicious, it's a nice treat to have when everyone else is enjoying a cocktail, water gets boring after a while.

6. Fiber One 90 calorie brownies - these are actually quite tasty and are packed with fiber which you'll need a lot of, things just slow down when you're busy growing a baby.

7. the WISE baby - another great website/resource for baby products, I've probably looked through 30 of their "Real Mom Favorite Baby Products" Good stuff on here I tell ya.

I'll be back next week with a bumpdate! Have a great weekend!

What do you think??

We find out this week if we're having a boy or a girl! As soon as we found out we were expecting we've been wondering, I do not understand how people can wait. I can't even wait until the 20 week appt to find out.. we're finding out as early as possible!

What the Old Wives Tales Predict:
Carrying High or Low?: Low = BOY
Adolescent skin?: Nope = BOY
Ring Swing: Circle = BOY
Heart rate: Over 140 = GIRL
Cravings: Spicy foods = BOY
Chinese Gender Chart:  = GIRL
Mayan Calendar: My age (28) + this year (2013) not both even or odd #s = BOY
Morning Sickness: Not significantly = BOY
Dreams: We've both dreamt it's a boy which apparently means we're having the opposite? = GIRL
Mother's Intuition: I go back and forth but I finally decided I would be surprised if it was a boy so = GIRL

TOTALS:
BOY = 5
GIRL = 5

So it's a Tie! What do you all think??

My first Bumpdate! 15 weeks!

How Far Along:
15 weeks! (pic was taken at 15.5 weeks)

Baby Size:
Apple- Baby is approximately 4 inches long and weighs 2 1/2 ounces

Have you started to show yet:
Kind of... Sometimes I look pregnant but mostly I just look fat. Awesome times.

Gender:
Don't know yet! Hopefully we'll know on Thursday!

Maternity Clothes:
Tops are all still pre-pregnancy, totally rocking the maternity jeans about half the time now. I've got a couple pairs of shorts that still fit, thankfully since it's not cooling off any in OK right now..

Stretch Marks:
No and hoping it stays that way!  Any recs for lotions/oils I should stock up on?

Sleep:
Sleeping good so far, have to get up to pee once a night and find it hard to fall back asleep after getting up some nights..

Best Moment of the Week:
Hearing the heartbeat at my appt yesterday! Love hearing that sweet little sound! And having energy again! I keep thinking I'll wake up and not feel good or be tired all day but so far all that's gone!

What I miss:
Being able to sit/stand through a football game without getting lightheaded.. come on heat! Let up already!

Movement:
I think I've felt some little flutters when I'm laying down in the evening, can't wait to feel them full force! He/She is definitely moving though b/c sometimes I can feel a big hard lump in the front of my stomach which I'm convinced is the baby and other times it's not there, I think he/she is moving from my front to the back.

Food Cravings:
Chips and Salsa - like really good salsa from a restaurant, I could eat it with a spoon!

Symptoms:
feeling lightheaded and faint at the OU season opener... it was over 100 degrees and I couldn't handle it so we opted to watch the game from a bar with air conditioning instead.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope

Labor Signs:
No

Belly Button- In or Out?:
In

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
On

Baby Purchases?:
We got a King Sized Bed last week, not exactly for the baby but I think it counts? We were rocking a full sized bed and I just knew it wouldn't last the whole 9 months..New saying in our house "Bed is the new couch" we're freaking obsessed.

Looking forward to:
Finding out the gender on Thursday and getting to see the little bean in the process!

Did I miss any good questions on this Bumpdate? I tried to compile a list from a few of your blogs, let me know if there's any super fun question I need to add!

Exciting News!!

We're Pregnant!!!! We couldn't be more excited to share this news!
Here's a rundown of it all for ya!

I found out I was pregnant on Dave's birthday which was awesome! Dave had to be at school early that day so he'd already left when I took the test.. So I had to wait ALL day before I could share the news. I decided I'd wrap the test up as a birthday present and have him open it. I was getting so impatient because he was taking so long to open the other gifts! Finally he got to the last envelope! His reaction was so sweet! "Really?!"
Me: "I think there's a line on there, do you see a line too?!"
Dave: "Yeah, does that mean it's for real?"
Me: "I think so?"
Cue us driving to CVS to get a digital test to take the next morning. I woke up early and took the test, it said to wait 2 minutes and it only took about 20 seconds to show up Pregnant! Woo!! it's official!

Next step was getting the Dr appt and trying to keep it a secret! Let me just say that it's totally unfair how you're not supposed to tell for 12 weeks when those first few weeks you have the worst symptoms! I remember one day sitting at my desk thinking I could easily fall asleep sitting in my desk chair. Or sitting in meetings thinking how nauseous I felt... those were some rough weeks.

doing the thinker in the womb.. def gonna be a smart kid.

Due Date: February 28th

Telling my parents!

Keeping it real.. that top pic took us about 30 tries to get right..

I plan on doing bumpdates but I'm too lazy to go back and type them out for past weeks... so here's the pics with no bumpdate to go along with :)

10 weeks was the size of a kumquat so we took a pic by my sister's kumquat tree!

Stay tuned for more!

I feel like I need to let you all know out there to be careful with using the app "Period Tracker" b/c it totally failed me.. So just as a PSA to all of you who aren't quite trying yet, be careful with the app!
Luckily we were trying so all was good! (Ask if you have questions - I'll answer, I just don't feel like typing out all my business here)
