Weekend Getaway to Austin!

This weekend we're taking a little 3 day vacation to Austin, TX with some dental school friends, while they still have 1 more week off before they officially start their 2nd year! The original plan was to float the Guadalupe but since the drought they said it's more like a walk than a float... we've nixed that plan and hope these ideas will be just as fun!

Here's what I really hope we get to do:

Get drinks and play some ping - pong at Lustre Pearl:

Enjoy some Mexican food at Chuy's:

Take a dip in Barton Springs: 

And of course partake in the nightlife on 6th St!

We'll be sure to stop by Kung Fu Saloon to see my ole pal Sunny too! This place looks SO fun!

Crazy Bachelorette Party Weekend!

This past weekend I road-tripped down to Dallas to celebrate Ashley's Bachelorette Party!
Here's a little re-cap for ya!

 

• I invented the hottest new dance move on the scene right now. (I'll teach you as soon as I get it patented)
• We had a yummy dinner at Victor Tangos before spending the rest of the night at J Blacks
• I may have begged to go to the W (where GaGa was staying) with BIG plans to teach her the new dance move in an attempt to get famous.
• We got locked out of Beth's apartment Friday night and feasted on McDonald's on the floor in the hallway.
• Matching PJ's were worn
• We may have had a PJ dance party that involved a wheelchair...

• I introduced Kurtz to washing your feed before passing out, you really do feel better the next day!
• Remnants of nuggets and fries were everywhere the next morning.

• Illegal "outside" drinks were made in the bathroom at the ZaZa pool, what do they expect when they charge $10 a mimosa?!
• Attempted stealing a beach ball from the pool... pool bouncer dude was a jerk.
• Listened to the "Bachelorette Party Mix" 24/7 (Lots of GaGa, Britney, Madonna and Katy Perry)

• Ashley got some fun lingerie and we dominated some champagne.

• Kyle showed up in the form of a blow up doll - Thanks to me having this conversation at Christy's toy box:
•      Me: All these blow up dolls are expensive... Do you have any cheaper ones?
•      Sales Lady: Um no, we don't have any cheaper men but we have a sheep.
•      Me: A what?
•     Sales Lady: A sheep, like the animal.
•      Me: (thinking: holy what? People are FrEaKs!) um ok that's not really what I'm looking for.
•   Cut to me calling Spencer Gifts - Do you sell blow up dolls? Yes. Great, what's the cheapest one you have? $20. Ok, and it's a guy? Yes. Great, on my way.

• We had some absolutely delicious sushi Saturday night at Deep Sushi.
• Received many dirty looks for having a blow up doll in a restaurant while it was still daylight..

• Julia was told her necklace was Fabulous! To which she replied, "I love the word fabulous!"


• We attended a super fun Drag Show!
• Ashley won Best Bachelorette at the Drag Show

• Blow Up Doll, Kyle was taken on stage by a drag queen to which she asked, "Is this Jesus?"
• Way too many test tube shots were consumed as evidenced by the below photos:




• A drag queen did her best Rhianna impression, I'll never hear Rude Boy without thinking of her from now on!
• We made it to another bar where I decided it would be a good place to take off my shoes and Julia agreed and joined me (blurry pic but you get the idea)

• Somehow we all made it home with a random assortment of late night munchies
• We scammed our way into getting an extra roll away bed and had to carry the original one out of the way while Stephanie slept on it
• Passed out and woke up to find Vicki had used a robe for a blanket (memories of  OU/tx 2 years ago when I used a curtain)

All in all it was a very successful Bachelorette party! We had a lot of fun dancing and being girls! Can't wait for the wedding in 2 weeks to reunite with everyone!

 

How 'bout that ride in?

Friday afternoon, Stephanie and I road tripped down to Austin Texas to see Miss Chelsea Handler and have a mini-girl's trip! Chelsea was hilarious, Joe Koy was the opener and I think he may have been funnier. I only think this because I had already read Chelsea's new book, and the majority of her act was from her book. So when she'd start telling a story I already knew the punchline... but it was still hilarious to hear her tell it!

I found the funniest part of Jo Koy's act on YouTube, Enjoy!

I went with a romper instead of the top I blogged about here. I felt like being a little more dressy than jeans, and the romper was super comfy!

Here's the re-cap.

We drank, we laughed at Chelsea Handler, we ate late night pizza, I woke up sleeping on the harwood floor (air mattress deflated), we shopped, we got pedicures, I almost fell asleep in the pedicure chair, we ate sushi, we danced, we ate jack in the box at 2 am, Stephanie woke up sleeping on the hardwood floor (air mattress deflated again) and we ate some more.

Sunny: Vodka.

Me: That's what Chelsea drinks so yeah!

Steph: Do you have mixers?

Sunny: I have Diet coke?

Me and Steph: that's it?

Sunny: Yep, suck it up

Me: You don't have shot glasses?

Sunny: these wine glasses work fine.

All together: Cheers

All together: YUCK!

It was kind of misty rain on Friday night, so please excuse the frizzy- not cute - hair in some of these pictures.

Afterwards, drink on some rooftop bar in Austin. Very Swanky.

Saturday shopping at the Domain, very cool outdoor shopping district.

Banana had all full priced items in the store 25% off! So I splurged and got the wedges I'd been wanting!

We were exhausted after shopping all day and getting pedicures, rough life, I know.

We managed to get ourselves together, and Steph and I had a mini-dance party while Sunny was getting ready. Steph was hot so I was cooling her off with my dance moves.. and the fan.

After dinner drinks... got a little crazy.

Time to call it a night... What's that? You guys are going to Jack in the Box? Hell yeah! We've never had it, sure I'd love to eat 2 deep fried tacos and some curly fries.

Next Morning Convo:

Me: OMG, I'm not eating for a week after last night!

Steph: OMG! We had Jack in the Box!

Me: haha yeah it was sick!

Steph: this air mattress is deflated, my back hurts.

Me: you can join me on the couch

Steph: nah, thats too much work

Me: let's get outta here, I'm hungry

Steph: me too.

So much for the no eating plan...

All in all, it was a great weekend! The only thing that could have made it better, is if Chelsea would have asked me to join her show. Maybe next year.

Big Plans!

This weekend I will be road-tripping down to Austin for a little girls weekend. The big reason for the trip is to see Miss Chelsea Handler's stand up act on Friday night. I just love her, read all her books, finished the new one last night. They're all laugh out loud funny, seriously, if you're looking for some quick entertainment reading I highly suggest any of her books!

Since the cheap seats were all sold out when we booked this trip, we ended up with pretty decent seats. So my plan for this trip is to wear a really cute outfit to the show, so cute that Chelsea will pick me out of the crowd. And she'll come up to me and be like, "Hey girl, nice shirt, I wanna drink my vodka in it." Then I'll be like, "Omg thanks! You can have it!" Then I'll just give it to her, and she'll think it's so funny that she'll ask me to join her on her show! (don't worry I plan on wearing an undershirt j.i.c my plan works out)

As an avid Chelsea Lately viewer, I've noticed that she could use a little fashion/styling help so I've decided this is the best way to get her attention. If you all can think of a better way, please, let me know. I'm open to suggestions. But if you can't think of anything better than my master cute outfit plan then try and help me decide what the perfect cute outfit would be.

This is what I'm thinking for the top, I'm pretty dead set on this being the perfect "get Chelsea's attention top"

Now the question is, do I go with the standard skinny jeans or white jeans? I'm definitely going with some kind of wedge heel because let's face it, you can't see Chelsea Handler without having a few cocktails and I'm not about to ruin my look with a stumbling walk. (Which is what happens when I wear regular heels.)
