DIY Christmas Decor

Dave is busy studying for finals, 9 tests in the next 9 days.. I don't envy him. So I've been entertaining myself in the evenings. Last night I decided to re-create a little Christmas decor I had seen a sorority sister do years ago.
I gathered my supplies and got to work! It took me about an hour from start to finish. Easy breezy!
Here's what you'll need: A canvas (I used an 18x24), pencil, some round items you can trace for the circles (cd's and bowls worked for me!), red, green, gold and black paint,  a couple of good paintbrushes, some Christmas ribbon and a glue gun.

It's pretty simple so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:
I traced the circles lightly in pencil and planned out which ones would be which colors, then I started painting!
I used the gold paint to highlight the red and green ornaments and both red and green to highlight the gold ornament. Then I painted on the Bible verse, "Every good and perfect gift is from above" - James 1:17
(not a huge fan of my handwriting with a paintbrush but what can ya do?)
Then I made the bows, glued them together and set them aside. I had planned on using the thick plaid ribbon to "hang" all the ornaments but I realized I'd be covering up a lot of them so I improvised with some thinner red and gold ribbon I had on hand. I must say, I really like the different ribbons.
Now I just have to decide where to put it or who to give it to!??

I linked up at Centsational Girl who is having a Holiday Craft Link party!
